On January 25th, 1905, the Carnegie Library opened its doors to the residents of Greensburg. In 1983, service was expanded to the entire county. A Bookmobile was purchased in 1984 and a branch Library in the Westport Community Building opened in 1989 in order to better serve the outlying areas.
The Library's collection, which began with 2,000 books, now contains over 110,000 items and consists of books, magazines, videos, audios, and much more.
Throughout 2005, the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library celebrated its centennial in many ways including putting together this Commemorative Cookbook full of favorite recipes submitted by staff and community members alike.
