Renewing and Reserving Materials
Renewing
Renewable items (see chart above) may be renewed once, either by phone or online, provided no reserves have been placed on that item. Items already renewed once must be brought back to the Library before any further renewals will be considered. If no reserves or other holds have been placed on the item, it may be renewed once more.
Polaris PowerPAC, part of our new Library automation system, allows renewal of applicable items one time online.
Reserving
If an item is circulating, it may be reserved (with the exception of the Bestseller Express Collection). This may be done in person at the main circulation desk, by phone, through our computerized card catalog (Polaris PowerPAC) in the Library, or from home.
When the item comes back in, the first person on the reserve list will be notified by phone that it is available. It will be held for four days; after that it will be reshelved or given to the next person on the list.*
*Remember: Items that others are waiting for cannot be renewed.
